To all Patients and Carers,
We are taking extra precautions with our admissions process and throughout your stay to ensure we continue to keep you as safe as possible. These precautions include:
Asking all our patients about their international travel history in the period prior to admission
Asking all patients to declare if they are suffering from any symptoms consistent with respiratory infection (particularly fever > 37.5 deg C, sore throat, cough)
Taking the temperature of patients immediately on presentation at hospital for admission
Sending any patients home if they display symptoms, have a fever or may have been exposed to potential infection
Sending carers away after dropping the patient off unless carer support is required
Implementing social isolating measures in the waiting area. Limited seatings for patients are available
We do not admit any patients with COVID-19 or any of the symptoms mentioned above.
In addition we are also taking extra precautions with regard to our staff and doctors:
All staff (nursing, administrative) and doctors are screened daily before commencing work, including temperature checks
Non-essential visits by company representatives or other personnel are being restricted
We have also put in place additional support services for our staff and doctors to help them continue to offer the best and safest care to our patients.
We are doing everything we can to keep our patients and their carers, as well as our staff and doctors as safe as possible.
Information about COVID-19 and community response continues to evolve, and we will ensure that we adapt our protocols to incorporate best practice as this information becomes available.
If you have any concerns or would like further information, please contact the Director of Nursing or go to the Department of Health website and visit the Coronavirus page.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
